Oct 20, 2016 - Are the fonts bigger in quicken for Mac 2017. One alternative I use (for my aging eyes) is to use the Mac OS X zoom feature. For a trackpad make sure you have zoom feature turned on so you can achieve the same effect.
It would appear that it's not possible to change the Mac OS X menubar font size. I'm assuming by Safari's toolbar, you mean the Bookmarks Bar, since the standard toolbar does not have text by default. But I do not think it is possible to change that either. However, I do know it is possible to change Firefox's Bookmarks Toolbar's font size.
Of course, it's only if you/your mother doesn't mind using Firefox instead of Safari. Tell me (or Google it) if you want to know how.
Of course, one solution for both problems would be to lower the screen resolution. That's what I did for a user account that I created for my mom. Click to expand. As mentioned above, for older people, what we have gotten used to as 'regular' font size (around 12 pt or so in most fonts) is really tiny and hard to see.
It's the same thing with cell phones. By default, the font on phones is tiny, and the worse is, some phones don't even offer the option to change the font size. To be honest, that's one thing I don't like about Mac OS X. Something like controlling the font size is super basic and is part of every OS out there. And for older people, yeah, font size is quite important, not just a neat customization option. Sure, changing the resolution is one solution, but it's pretty drastic to change the screen resolution just to make the text bigger. I mean, lowering the screen resolution changes everything: everything becomes 'bigger,' meaning you have less space to work with, and if you're no longer the native resolution of the screen, everything becomes blurry.
