This thing sounds awesom e any switch thats up is through one jack and any swi tch thats down p uts that pickup through the other jack and there is volume and tone for each set. They didnt make it because the regular model was a 100.00 cheaper and no one even knew what stereo was for. It had just came in the st ore as a demo to test for sales. My dad worked for Sears years ago and bought this guitar and it was in the attic. The actual Tiesco exact guitar was a WG-4L not a 1437, the 1437 was the silvertone exact version this has an S. The hea dstock emblem was missing so I put a T ei sco one on it. The gui tar is made by T eisco and was sold by Sears as a Silvertone. It is a stereo guitar one of 5, they were prototypes of the regula r 1437.
It plays very nice, sounds awesome and great action. I had it checked and set up, the intonation is per fect and the touch is nice and eas y. Ever ything wo rks perfect and the ne ck is s t eel reinforced and straight and true. The controls have all been replace d an d u pdated. Its probably up there with the Ties co Spectrum 5 at l east, as seen in the pictures it has a blemesh on the back and a di ng on the corner they both could be fixed with some fine gri t paper and some clear pretty eas y. Great for display, or with a little bit of work an awesome every day player! Shipping is $40 in the U.S. Tuning machines are original and work well. Fret wires and fretboard don't show much play time. Neck looks straight and in good all-around condition, with original string mute and bridge cover. 44 1/2 inches total length, the body itself is 18 1/2 inches long. There are a few chips to the finish around the area where the neck meets the top of the body and a slight separation of the plastic trim from the wood at the highest curved point of the body. Electronics seem fine outside of that. The back of the headstock and upper part of the neck have several cracks running parallel, a few deeper ones have separated slightly(see photos) Also has some cracks to the finish itself on the front and back of the body. The top volume knob is slightly loose and sounds scratchy when turned up or down. It seems the neck needs tightened and the attaching screws seem a little loose. It has some condition issues and since I'm not a luthier I can't say with certainty what repairs are needed. This is a beautiful 1965 Teisco Del Ray EB-200W.
